Work has begun at Iris Pool, the Wild Carp Trust’s second conservation pool, to remove the couch grass that is encroaching the water.
Wild Carp Trust trustee Peter Whipp said, “It’s great to begin work at this special pool. But it’s hard graft removing the encroaching couch grass. It is much heavier than we expected. Very exhausting. Volunteers are welcomed!”
A larger work party is planned, with twice-yearly maintenance of the pool required.
