It looks like this summer is going to be the hottest on record. Lakes and carp farms are already reporting oxygen crashes and fish losses. The Wild Carp Trust is no different, and reports losses of baby wild carp due to temperature and oxygen fluctuations.
Whilst our losses are troubling, they are by no means on the scale of some of the losses reported by leading carp farms this year who have lost hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of carp.
We shall be back at Pant y Llyn this summer, seeking fry to bolster the stocks in our breeding programme.
