The young (2-3 summer) wild carp collected from Llyngwyn this week have been successfully transferred to a temporary growing-on tank. The Wild Carp Trust will keep them here for a few weeks while a larger pool is being constructed.
Wild Carp Trust chair of trustees Fennel Hudson said, “We felt that these carp were too small to move on to the conservation pool, as they’re the size that could easily be eaten by a heron. We’ve put them in this temporary facility (an impromptu set up made from a paddling pool) while a larger pool is constructed. It ain’t pretty, but it’s home. They’ll be safe in here for the coming weeks.”
