The Wild Carp Trust was at the British Fly Fair International (BFFI) exhibition this weekend. Our stand was manned by trustees Peter Whipp and Fennel Hudson who did a sterling job waving the flag for heritage carp and proactively networking with attendees and other stakeholders. In excess of 2000 people visited the show over two days, so we more than achieved our promotion and education charitable objectives.
Special thanks for the encouragement received from John Kirby, chairman of Prince Albert Angling Society (the UK’s largest angling club); Kris Kent from the Angling Trust; Andy Grey from the Wild Trout Trust; Pete Tyjas from Fly Culture; Mark Stockton from Aquaculture Equipment Ltd; and famous fly fishers Peter Hayes and Peter Cockwill. Also to the representatives of Carp Champions (the leading advocates of fly fishing for carp) on the stand next to ours, including Wild Carp Trust ambassador Dave Felce, VIP supporter David West Beale and Geoff Hadley.
